Les Filles du botaniste

The Chinese Botanist's Daughters

(France/Canada, 2005, 97 minutes)

In remote modern China, a young girl is taken as a temporary apprentice by a renowned university botanist and enters a lesbian romance with his daughter. A daring subject is wasted in a decoratively shot combination of stilted melodrama and exotic titillation tailor-crafted for foreign audiences.
